Wine Rack
Construction
Get your
wine organized and you will always have just the right
bottle on hand. You may think you are
not a wine collector but what about that case of Malbec you
picked up on your last trip to Argentina? Remember the day you
were in Trader Joe’s and went crazy with all the wines that
were on sale? A do-it-yourself
wine rack construction is in order.
There are
many different styles of wine rack kits
available. Many of them are
modular and can be added to as your wine collection
grows. Locate a dark corner
or closet where the temperature is relatively stable. (It
isn’t critical, for most wines, only for the more delicate
or long lived, investment-intended wines.) A constant 65
degrees is better than 55 – 75 degree swings. Measure the area
carefully. You can look online
at the various sites offering do-it-yourself racks for your
wine rack construction. See what is available
for the space you are intending to use.
You will
want a wine rack that offers the flexibility to store as
many or as few bottles as you currently have. Choose
carefully. You will want a wine
rack that is practical, easy to assemble as well as nice
looking. There are as many
types of wood as there are colors and styles. Find one that fits in
with home’s design. There are countertop
wine racks, decorative racks, stackable racks and corner
wine storage. As you can see there
is something to fit every collector’s need.
You may
also want to visit your local home improvement center before
ordering online. If you can pick up
something local that may be better or more convenient. You
may find you need more parts or pieces. It is quicker to run
down to the corner lumber yard than to wait for a delivery
after talking to the customer service rep
online. You
will also be able to possibly see what your completed
wine rack construction will look like up close and
personal.
